A notable set of handmade 925 silver and natural coral heavy hoop earrings or bracelets, made in Libya in around 1900. They have stunning hand-stamped designs, as well as beading in silver and coral.
Curator’s note: These statement antique hoops were handmade in Libya to be worn as earrings. They were acquired in the 1970 by ethnic jewellery collectors and enthusiasts Katrin & Ulrich Klever who wrote a book about their collection, which features these earrings. These work perfectly as bracelets but can also be worn as earrings - although they are heavy and the wires are thick compared to modern, Western-style earrings. I’m selling all three pieces as a single listing to keep the collection together.

Hallmarks: One earring is hallmarked and they all test as 925 (sterling silver)
Date: Circa 1900
Weight and size: Combined weight 43 grams
Size of each earring differs slightly as follows: 67.5x66.8mm, 69.6x69mm and 65.2x69mm
Condition: Excellent condition - they each have a naive hook fastening mechanism, which makes them wearable as earrings or bracelets - and it works perfectly well.
